Tinder is a magical play about a dark subject. If you crossed the Brothers Grimm with Samuel Beckett, you might get an inkling of what’s in store for you with Tinder.
Tinder was one of three plays shortlisted for the 2008-09 Queensland Premier’s Drama Awards. It underwent five months of dramaturgy and workshops with Queensland Theatre Company and Peter Matheson.
Synopsis
Ned is a crippled young man who has lived his whole life with only Martha, his mother, for company. They live far from anyone else and Martha uses the one book in house – a collection of dark fairy stories – to control Ned. There’s humour and horror in their enmeshed relationship until the day that a stranger arrives at the door and shatters everything.
